AD7712ARZ is a 2-channel, 24-bit, low power sigma-delta analog-to-digital (ADC) converter for data acquisition applications. It is part of the Analog Devices\' ADC family. Its on-chip gain and offset compensation allows for reversing inputs from single-ended to differential analog sources. Its power-on reset and autocalibration functions enable instant self-calibration on power-up. It also features sample rate, total conversion time programmed, internal digital filter, low power consumption and small packages.AD7712ARZ is suitable for applications including laboratory instrumentation, medical imaging systems, industrial process control, data acquisition boards, digital signal processing and portable instruments. Its wide supply voltage operation and wide signal bandwidth makes it ideal for many applications.AD7712ARZ features a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 105dB and a signal-to-distortion ratio (SFDR) of 117dB. It also has an 8kHz wide null-to-null signal bandwidth. The ADC has a product of Programmed Number of Samples per Second (PNSPS) of 200KSPS. It is available in two package options, a 7x7mm 64-pin QFN and a 5x5mm 40-pin QFN.The on-chip, programmable gain and offset compensation allow for single-ended and differential input range selections. Single-ended input range selections included a gain of 1, 10 and 100, with a maximum input range of 5.75V full scale. Differential input range selections can be divided into two categories based on the connected gain stage and input full-scale voltage. The first type includes gains of 1 and 10, with a maximum input range of 3.8V; and the second type reaches gains of 1, 10 and 100, with a maximum input range of 7.5V.The device provides a maximum conversion rate of 1MSPS over both channels. Digital filter and user-selectable oversampling rates are used to achieve the higher sample rates, with the minimum digital filter enabled rate being 25KSPS. The device is powered with a single 3.3V or 5V supply and has a low power consumption of 6mW at 1MSPS.AD7712ARZ is equipped with a programmable digital filter that can be enabled for Nyquist data rates up to 50Ksps. It also provides measurement accuracy of 23 effective bits in dynamic and a temperature coefficient of 0.3ppm/°C. The device provides various functions including offset and gain error tracking, power-on reset and autocalibration and 2 ppb Master Crystal Reference Oscillator.The device provides a four-wire interface to both the orther analog-to-digital converter and other microcontrollers. The interface includes the SCLK, R/W, DIN, and DOUT and is used for data exchange between the host microcontroller and the ADC. SCLK is the serial clock input; R/W is the read/write line; DIN is the serial data input, and DOUT is the serial data output.The AD7712ARZ is designed to provide a low-cost, low-power and high-resolution data acquisition solution for various applications. It is suitable for a range of applications including laboratory instrumentation, medical imaging systems, industrial process control and digital signal processing. Its wide supply voltage operating range, low power consumption and small footprint make it an ideal choice for many applications.
