AD8362-EVALZ is a widely used radio frequency (RF) evaluation and development board that is specifically designed for high-performance, low-noise applications. It is a versatile, low-power, high-dynamic range receiver solution for short-range wireless systems, such as remote sensors, telemetry, industrial communications, and automotive navigation. AD8362-EVALZ offers an ideal platform to evaluate and develop high-performance radio frequency designs.

The AD8362-EVALZ board is composed of eight components:

  • AD8362 Transceiver: The AD8362 transceiver is the heart of the board, allowing it to achieve high-precision RF dynamic range. The transceiver boasts a high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of -84 dBm and the lowest power consumption in its class. Furthermore, the AD8362 supports high-data-rate transmission through its reception sensitivity of -90 dBm.
  • AD8362 Support Circuit Computers: This board also sports two AD8362 support circuit computers, making it easier to set up and configure the receiver hardware and associated protocol. The support circuit computers also provide the options of manually disabling the receiver and input selection.
  • RX Input Amplifier: This board has a built-in RX input amplifier that helps to increase the signal dynamic range. With its dBm of gain, this amplifier boosts weak signals to help to maximize the sensitivity of the receiver.
  • POF Auxiliary Circuit with Exact LED Driver: The AD8362-EVALZ board also features an auxiliary circuit with a POF LED driver. This driver helps to eliminate the need for digital buffer and multiplexers in every channel and can drive up to eight LEDs. Furthermore, the driver has exact current control and can drive LEDs with a range of 0.5 to 30mA, providing more flexibility in design.
  • Four Configurable Inputs: The AD8362-EVALZ board has four configurable inputs that are capable of handling up to 900MHz of signal bandwidth. Two of these inputs are available for use with either single-ended or differential signals while the other two support single-ended reception only. Additionally, the board offers rapid configuration of the DAC/TX and PLL using the user-defined input voltage.
  • Full-duplex Mode Mode: This board supports full-duplex mode to provide powerful throughput performance. The combination of transmitter and receiver functions allows for simultaneous transmission and reception of data without interfering with each other and thus eliminating the need for separate antennas.
  • Interference and Digital Filtering: In addition to the RX/TX features, the AD8362-EVALZ board offers a number of filtering options to improve the interference of external signals. These filters ensure maximum reception performance and help the user to get the most from their radio frequency design.
  • Power Control and GPIO Expansion Connectors: The board also has power control pins and GPIO expansion connectors, allowing the user to quickly and conveniently modify the power consumption as needed. Additionally, these connectors can be used to add extra functionality to the board.
