AD8368-EVALZ Application Field and Working Principle
Analogue Devices Inc. (ADI) offers a wide variety of evaluation boards for precision op amps, voltage reference circuits, and many other analogue integrated circuit (IC) products. One such product is the AD8368-EVALZ, a fully featured, low noise, low distortion, single-ended active differential amplifier. This evaluation board is designed to meet the requirements of precision Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), such as digital-to-analogue converters (DACs) and active filters.
This evaluation board consists of a precision op amp, gain and offset resistor networks, EMI suppression components, and other integrated components. The AD8368-EVALZ is designed to provide a single-ended, low-noise, low-distortion signal output from a wide variety of analogue input signals. The AD8368-EVALZ is ideal for applications such as precision analogue-to-digital (ADC) and digital-to-analogue (DAC) interfaces, instrumentation amplifiers, active filters, and many other precision signal conditioning applications.
The AD8368-EVALZ is a single-ended active differential amplifier. It consists of a precision op-amp and gain and offset resistor networks. A single-ended input signal is applied to one input terminal and the programme output voltage of the amplifier is connected to the other input terminal. The output of the amplifier consists of the sum of the input voltage and an amplified copy of the difference between the two input voltages. This results in an amplified differential signal output. The amplifier is designed for DC and lower frequency applications.
The gain of the amplifier is set by connecting external connecting resistors between the output and ground. These resistors determine the output level and it is possible to obtain gains of up to 40 dB using this technique. The amplitude of the output signal can be adjusted using the offset resistor network which allows for a range of output voltage levels. The input signal is also attenuated to reduce the risk of overdriving the amplifier.
The AD8368-EVALZ also offers a range of EMI suppression components such as bypass capacitors, RC networks and inductive networks. The bypass capacitors reduce the power supply ripple and prevent high frequency noise from entering the amplifier circuitry. The RC and inductive networks help reduce noise from external sources, such as the power supply noise from other integrated circuits in the system. This ensures the amplifier maintains its low noise characteristics even in noisy environments.
The AD8368-EVALZ is a robust evaluation board offering all the features needed to evaluate its AD8368 single-ended active differential amplifier.
