Working Principle
The AD9639BCPZRL-170 uses a delta-sigma modulator for the analog-to-digital conversion. The delta-sigma modulator uses a multi-bit analog-to-digital converter to sample input signals, and then processes the signal by moving it through a low-pass filter. During this process, the signal is integrated and quantized to form a bit-stream. The analog signal is then encoded in a binary format and converted to digital data.
The device consists of an analog front-end (AFE) and a digital back-end (DBE). The AFE consists of a low-noise amplifier (LNA), a bandwidth programmable antialiasing filter, a two-stage delta-sigma modulator and a digital decimation filter. The DBE is responsible for the high-speed serial interface and programmable gain/offset compensation. The interface is robust and supports several serial protocols including SPI, I2C, and USB.
The device supports a wide input common-mode range (±5.5 V) and a wide operating temperature range (-30 to 980 C).
