ADG211AKR is a single-channel, low-cost, CMOS switch IC. It comprises two SPDT switches and is designed to operate from a single +3V to +15V supply. The two control inputs SEL1 and SEL2 are TTL and CMOS compatible. The switches are designed for signals of up to ±4V range. Designed to provide excellent off-isolation, high signal bandwidth and low signal distortion, the ADG211AKR is fully specified over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
The ADG211AKR device is capable of switching a wide range of signal types including digital, analogue, AC and DC signals. The device can be used as a digital switch, an analog switch and even as a multiplexer/demultiplexer in applications such as signal routing and frequency multiplexing. It is also suitable for applications using high-speed sampling techniques such as frequency division multiplexing and time division multiplexing.
Working Principle of ADG211AKR
The ADG211AKR switch consists of a pair of SPDT switches. The switches can be turned ON or OFF by applying a logical LOW signal to one of the two control inputs, SEL1 and SEL2. Analogue input signals applied to either of the two arm terminals will be routed to the common terminal, depending on the state of the control input. For example, if the control input SEL1 is at logic HIGH, the signal applied to arm input 1 will be routed to the common output.
The ADG211AKR can be used as a multiplexer/demultiplexer by connecting the SEL1 and SEL2 inputs to different control signals. For example, the SEL1 control signal can be connected to an address bus and the SEL2 control signal to a data bus. The data bus will then be connected to the arm inputs, and the address bus will be connected to the SEL1 and SEL2 inputs. When the address on the address bus matches the address on the SEL1 and SEL2 inputs, the data from the arm inputs will be routed to the common output.
