ADP3210MNR2G is a special purpose voltage regulator and part of the Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) family. It is designed to provide a high degree of accuracy in both linear and switch-mode regulators. This device contains two on-chip voltage references and integrated voltage follower regulators providing efficient, low current, and accurate voltage regulation for portable applications. The ADP3210MNR2G is offered in a 4 mm2 outline, 20-pin, 1.4 mm thick TDFN package, making it ideal for space-critical applications.The ADP3210MNR2G utilizes a high-efficiency buck converter and operates from a single input voltage of 1.9 V to 5.5 V and provides two adjustable outputs. The internal reference voltage regulator can provide fixed 1.8 V and adjustable voltage references. It has a programmable switching frequency of up to 1 MHz and has a wide range of output current capability. Its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, and its junction-to-ambient thermal resistance, Ta is 20 degrees C/W.The ADP3210MNR2G offers extensive protection features such as short-circuit protection and over temperature protection. It also features an internal thermal limiting circuit prevents it from operating above its safe temperature limit, and it features an integrated low on-state resistance (RDS(on)) MOSFET to minimize losses due to power dissipation. Additionally, it also has an adjustable over-current protection circuit, allowing the user to adjust the peak output current based on their application requirements.The ADP3210MNR2G is optimized for space-critical applications and offers an excellent combination of wide-load range, high efficiency, and total power solution with simple external component requirements. The device is suitable for primary, secondary and tertiary power systems that require a feature-rich, low-cost, low-power solution.With the use of a synchronous rectifier, a voltage-set reference, adjustable frequency, and input voltage detection, the ADP3210MNR2G is able to provide regulated currents with high accuracy and control. It offers two different output modes such as single-ended and floating, to meet various application requirements. The single-ended output mode is designed to provide current with low output impedance over a wide operating load range and provide better thermal performance. The floating output mode is designed for higher current applications which require the ability to be controlled between two voltages.The ADP3210MNR2G is an ideal solution for applications such as handheld devices, portable medical and test equipment, battery management, low-power systems, smartphones, tablets and notebooks, digital TV box, radio and audio equipment. Additionally, it is also suitable for automotive applications such as Instrument Clusters, Digital Dashboards, and Motor/LED Controllers.The working principle of the ADP3210MNR2G voltage regulator is simple and relies on its integrated on-chip reference. The integrated reference allows the device to maintain a low-voltage drop across the power MOSFET devices and maintain its overall efficiency.
