The second major component of the AHRF650-2 is the thermal cutoff (TCO) element. This element is designed to protect against secondary sources of overcurrent, such as overvoltages. When an overvoltage occurs, the temperature of the TCO element rises and melts, preventing the current from passing through it. The TCO element must be manually reset after an overvoltage event, making it less than ideal for applications requiring frequent manual resetting.
