Working Principle
The working principle of a fixed inductor like the AISC-0402-8N2J-T is that it resists a change in current. As an electric current passes through a wire, a magnetic field is created around it. This magnetic field then links the coil of wire, inducing a voltage in the coil which is proportional to the rate of change of current.
As the current gradually decreases, the magnetic field will collapse and there will be an increase in voltage of the coil. This counter-electromotive force, or back EMF, then acts to oppose the current, resulting in the inductor\'s opposition to a change in current. This property of inductors, known as inductance, is what makes them such a useful component in a wide range of electronic circuits.
