The input clock signal is processed by the PLL to output a frequency which is higher than or equal to the input reference frequency.The AK1590’s architecture has two types of outputs, the PLL output and the Multiplier output. The PLL output is determined by the external reference clock signal and the Multiplier output is determined by the reference clock and the VCO output. Both the PLL and the Multiplier outputs are adjustable through the use of software configuration registers.The AK1590 PLL can be programmed to have a wide range of output frequencies, from a few kHz to hundreds of MHz, and can be set to a specified frequency by programming the associated coefficient registers.Finally, AK1590 provides a number of functions for the adjustment of the internal clocks, such as Charge Coupled Device (CCD) for clock jitter reduction and a Delay Lined Based PLL (DLB-PLL) to better control the PLL output frequency.
