Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are the most commonly used type of electrolytic capacitors, and represent the most significant capacitance values per unit volume. While there are other, more obscure variations of electrolytic capacitors, the aluminum electrolytic capacitor is by far the most common type. The ALS81H513QH100 is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor of the ‘radial’ form factor, meaning they feature an axial lead (also known as a pin, but aluminum electrolytic capacitors do not use pins) extending from each side of the capacitor body, each one making contact with the positive and negative terminals of the capacitor respectively. The ALS81H513QH100 is an SMD capacitor, which stands for Surface Mount Device, a type of electrical component that is designed to be soldered onto printed circuit boards.
