The AMP03GS-REEL is an advanced and highly configurable dual-channel amplifier used for both medical imaging and linear actuators in a variety of applications. Configurable gain is accomplished through programming of the device’s internal resistor network and a wide range of input gain can be attained from 0.1 to 65 dB. Furthermore, the AMP03GS-REEL amplifier features a wide slew rate range up to 30 V/µs and a low output noise level and high input impedance. This amplifier also finds use as an instrumentation amplifier, serving as a highly versatile building block in instruments, control systems, and test and measurement systems.The AMP03GS-REEL amplifier is designed using Bipolar and CMOS circuit technologies. This combination of circuit technologies provides increased power and flexibility, while providing excellent accuracy and speed of operation. Additionally, this amplifier utilizes an advanced architecture to reduce layout, crosstalk, and power consumption.The AMP03GS-REEL operates on a single 5V supply and requires minimal external components for configuration, thus greatly simplifying design cycles. In both medical and linear applications, this amplifier features built-in frequency compensation and 10 MHz low frequency roll-off capability for improved response and lower distortion. Furthermore, its high resolution and wide dynamic range ensures superb performance even in dynamic situations.The amplifier’s on-chip resistors can be programmed with easy-to-use potentiometers, and its on-chip latch enables configuration loading with the touch of a single button. Furthermore, the AMP03GS-REEL includes an optional external energy path and can be configured to accept an Optical Motion Controller for high accuracy and speed of operation.The AMP03GS-REEL also offers protection against electrical hazards and overcurrent faults, and can be configured for temperature control, as well as output over-voltage protection provided by an integrated voltage clamp. These safety and control measures provide extra protection when using the amplifier in high power applications.The amplifier\'s working principle is rooted in the classic integrator-based amplifier architecture. This architecture utilizes the op-amps non-inverting configuration to produce a two-stage design. At the first stage, the displacement amplifier produces a high gain, low distortion linear output by taking the differential input signal and amplifying it. At the second stage, the output voltage of the first stage is integrated with a fixed gain of unity, providing an amplified and stable output.The main advantages of the AMP03GS-REEL amplifier are its high bandwidth (with a bandwidth of 20 MHz) and wide dynamic range. Additionally, it features excellent input rejection and linearity, low noise and THD, and provides great flexibility due to its external programming options. With its large feature set and simple operation, the AMP03GS-REEL amplifier is well suited for a variety of medical imaging, linear actuator and instrumentation applications.
