AOC3864

AOC3864 is a 45V RDS(on) power MOSFET array that was designed for high speed switching applications. It is the ideal choice for power solutions in the DC-DC converter and other power supply switching solutions. The array fully integrates eight-channel MOSFETs plus four ESD protection diodes in the same package, reducing the number of components needed in the system and cost.

This MOSFETs array can be used in many applications such as power conversion solutions, DC-DC converters, voltage regulator modules (VRMs), LED driver solutions, AC-DC rectifying circuit, and so on.

The working principle of AOC3864 is as follows: It consists of an array of eight N-channel MOSFETs, each with an ESD protection diode connected to the drain terminal, and a logic level gate driver for each gate for switching. The MOSFETs are built on a silicon substrate and the gates are connected to the substrate by a source/drain containment.The gate driver consists of two CMOS level-shifting circuits which allow the gate to stay at the same voltaige as the rest of the substrate, preventing wide voltage swings otherwise caused by the gate capacitance. When switched on, the MOSFETs allow current to flow from drain to source and when off, current is blocked. When the gate voltage is low, the MOSFETs is off, and when the gate voltage is high, the MOSFETs is on. The ESD protection circuit diodes are connected to the drain of the MOSFETs array in order to protect the power supply from any uncontrolled cunrrent flow caused by electrostatic discharge.

The AOC3864 is designed to be robust, with low on-resistance and high current drive capability. It also has a thermal shutdown feature which will automatically shut off the MOSFETs when the temperature exceeds the rated maximum. This allows the MOSFETs array to be used in a variety of high current and high frequency switching applications, such as power supply solutions, motor control, and lighting applications.
