The AS7C256A-15JCNTR is a 256Kb (33,554,432-bit) static random access memory (SRAM) organized as 16,777,216 words by 8-bit. It is a low-voltage and low-power CMOS static RAM designed with industry-standard cell architecture. The AS7C256A-15JCNTR consists of a decoded SRAM cell array and designed to ensure the optimizing function and reliability of a wide range of memories. This memory is best suited for applications such as routers, switches and hubs, network storage, image processing, computer peripherals and embedded systems.
The AS7C256A-15JCNTR is an asynchronous SRAM device which means it doesn\'t require a frozen memory controller clock cycle while waiting for output. This allows faster throughput compared to synchronous SRAM. The device operates with a voltage range of 2.3V to 3.6V which is lower than synchronous SRAM voltage range which reduces power consumption. This SRAM features fast read/write access times of 15ns which makes the device suitable for high performance and high throughput applications. The device uses a simple four signal interface with separate chip select, address, data input and data output signals. The device supports a DQS (data strobe) signal to indicate the status of read data.
The AS7C256A-15JCNTR also features Error Detection Logic (EDL) which detects common single bit errors and corrects single bit errors after a system initialization. If the error is a double bit or multiple bit error, the device will not correct it and the result is unpredictable. The data transfer pulse time (tDPH) is the time required to transfer data from the device to the output pins.
