The ASM3P2812AF-08SR is an integrated clock generator and frequency synthesizer that has a wide range of applications in high-performance communication systems, industrial automation and control, automotive electronics and intelligent household electrical applications. The device includes two phase-locked loops (PLLs) and multipliers/dividers to generate non-overlapping or sinusoidal clock signals from a single clock input. The device also features an on-chip crystal oscillator and a digital phase-locked loop control, allowing it to be configured to produce any desired output frequency range up to 24MHz with stable, low-jitter clock signals.The ASM3P2812AF-08SR uses the phase-locked loop (PLL) principle to reduce the frequency of a high-frequency input signal and lock it to a lower frequency reference clock, producing a low-jitter signal at the output frequency. This allows it to produce output frequencies that are not related to signal frequencies of the reference clock. A high-resolution and high-accuracy control is provided by the device’s on-chip frequency divider and reference clock divider. The device also includes a phase-frequency detector and charge pump circuit that can be used to rapidly charge and discharge a small capacitor to control the output frequency.In addition to its frequency synthesizer function, the ASM3P2812AF-08SR can also be used as a clock multiplier and clock divider, allowing it to generate clocks at various frequencies, including those not available from the reference clock. As a clock divider, the device can generate output frequencies which are lower than the reference clock frequency, or higher when used as a clock multiplier.The ASM3P2812AF-08SR can be easily integrated into a wide variety of systems, making it particularly well-suited for applications such as wireless communication systems, high-speed computing, test/measurement equipment, industrial automation and control, automotive electronics and intelligent household applications.The ASM3P2812AF-08SR combines the two phase-locked loops, the on-chip crystal oscillator and the digital phase-locked loop control to provide the user with a versatile, high-performance and low-jitter clock generator and frequency synthesizer, perfect for a variety of applications.
