ASM3P2814BF-08TR is a clock generator, phase-locked-loop (PLL), and frequency synthesizer. This highly integrated device consists of a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and a phase frequency detector (PFD) with option of divide-by-2, 4, 8 or 32 post-dividing stages. It is designed for use in Synthesize Clock Solutions with low phase noise. This device is suitable for use in transmission systems and other electronic systems which require very low frequency phase noise.
The ASM3P2814BF-08TR clock generator has an integrated frequency synthesizer with a range of up to a maximum frequency of 282.14 Mhz. This allows users to program the Output Frequency without a VCO calibration. It also has on-chip control registers that are capable of storing up to 28 bytes of information enabling users to store and re-read desired settings during operation. Furthermore, it is equipped with a PFD combined with a programmable dividers which supports a wide range of output frequencies from a single reference clock. Lastly, the ASM3P2814BF-08TR has an external lock detect pin indicating the lock condition on or off.
The ASM3P2814BF-08TR works by feeding the reference oscillator in its Reference Input. This signal is then converted to a digital signal which is used to control the divider output of the synthesizer.
