The AT25128B-MAHL-T is a 2K-bit Serial EEPROM that is wide used in the memory applications. This memory is a 256K-bit, 8K x 8, Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) that is organized as a single block of 8K x 8 bits and is fabricated using Atmel\'s non-volatile CMOS technology.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T is a single-supply, memory device which is operated at either a 3.3V or 5V supply which can provide continuous low-power operation. This device is also featured an active current of 10mA (max) while all other pins are held in the High-impedance state.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T memory operation is completely independent of the state of the Chip Enable (CE) and Serial Clock (CK) pins. This device operates in two modes of operation, one is the "serial interface operational mode" and the other one is the "standby operational mode". The CE pin is used to switch the device to the "standby operational mode" when it is in logic high level.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T also offers data protection features against inadvertent write operations. Data protection is provided by the write-protect (WP) pin. When the WP pin is in logic high level, the device is protected against inadvertent write operations and the Serial Data Output pin (SO) is disabled.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T contains the Page Write operation. Data may be written one byte at a time, or up to sixteen (16) bytes at once using the Page Write operation. After completion of a write cycle, the device returns to standby mode.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T provides several different serial interface formats to accommodate a wide range of applications. The device is accessed via the Serial Data Input (SI) pin, Serial Data Output (SO) pin, Chip Enable (CE) pin, Serial Clock (CK) pin, and Write-Protect (WP) pin. All these pins are used to control and access the memory.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T offers three address sizes. An eight (8) bit instruction set is used to control operations. The instruction set consists of the commands to write, read, protect, increase and erase the memory. Internal state machine are used to check whether the commands are valid or not. Since all memory operations take place under the control of the instruction set, the device is platform independent.

The AT25128B-MAHL-T also offers several operational temperature ranges – from -40°C to +85°C. The device is designed for harsh environment and automotive applications.
