Working Principle:

The AT93C56B-MAHM-T is an NVM with a single 32-bit memory word. It is designed to access the memory though a two-byte station address. Commands from the address bus are used to control the device, such as write and read operations. The device can be read or written to as long as the memory address is provided. When a write operation is performed, data must be preceded by a write command, and only the data that is addressed by the command will be written to the memory. When a read operation is performed, data must be requested by indicating the station address. The data that is read is the data that is stored at the addressed memory location.

The AT93C56B-MAHM-T includes a write protection pin that allows the user to select a write protection level however no security feature is supported. There is also an erase switch pin which enables erasure of all memory contents. When the erase switch pin is pulled low all memory contents are written as ones and the memory is set to its unprogrammed state.

The AT93C56B-MAHM-T also comes with an external programming voltage pin which allows programming of the device under 3.0V.
