5. Function Description
The Atmel AVR core combines a rich instruction set and 32 general-purpose working registers. All 32 The register is directly connected to the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), allowing two independent registers Accessed in one instruction executed in one clock cycle. The generated architecture code is more efficient At the same time, it achieves throughput ten times faster than traditional CISC microcontrollers. ATmega16A provides the following features: 16KB in-system programmable flash program Memory with read-write function; 512 bytes EEPROM; 1KB SRAM; 32 general-purpose I/O lines, 32 general-purpose working registers; JTAG interface for boundary scan; on-chip debugging support and programming; three flexible comparison modes Timer/counter; internal and external interrupts; continuous play programmable USART; a byte-oriented two-wire serial interface, one 8-channel; 10-bit ADC, optional differential input stage with programmable gain (only in TQFP package) ); Programmable watchdog timer internal oscillator; a SPI serial port; and six software-selectable power-saving modes. Idle mode stopping the CPU also allows USART; two-wire interface; analog-to-digital converter; static random access memory; timer/counter; SPI port; and interrupt the system to continue operation. The power-down mode saves the register contents but freezes the oscillator and disables all other chip functions until the next external interrupt or hardware reset. Power saving In this mode, the asynchronous timer continues to run, allowing the user to maintain a timer base while the rest of the device is sleeping. The ADC noise reduction mode will stop the CPU and all I/O modules (except asynchronous), the timer and ADC can minimize the switching noise during ADC conversion. In standby mode, the crystal resonator oscillator is running, while the rest of the device is sleeping. This allows very fast startup in combination with low power consumption. In the extended standby mode, both the main oscillator and the asynchronous timer continue to work. The device is manufactured using Atmel's high-density non-volatile memory technology. The on-chip ISP flash memory allows program memory to be reprogrammed in the system via the SPI serial interface. Non-volatile memory programmer, or through an on-chip boot program running on the AVR core. When the software is updated in the flash part of the application, the boot flash part will continue to run, providing a real ReadWhile-Write operation. By combining an 8-bit RISC CPU with self-programming flash memory in the system, Atmel ATmega16A is a powerful single-chip microcontroller that can provide highly flexible and cost-effective solutions for many embedded control applications. ATmega16A has a complete set of program and system development tool support, including: C compiler, macro assembler, program debugger/simulator, online simulator and evaluation kit.
