ATMEL SAM4E-EK evaluation board is a full featured evaluation board and development platform for rapid prototyping of Atmel ARM Cortex-M4-based microcontrollers. On the board there is an Atmel SAM4E ARM Cortex-M4, a very powerful 32-bit ARM processor with up to 256KB of flash memory, up to 32KB of SRAM, up to 6 channels of 10bit ADCs, and multiple high-speed IO interfaces. It is an ideal tool for embedded control applications which require fast response time and low power consumption.ATMEL SAM4E-EK can be used for product and system development in a wide range of application fields such as, automotive and industrial control, medical electronics, and consumer electronics. The board is equipped with multiple hardware and software evaluation tools, such as Atmel Data Visualiser, Atmel AVR Toolchain, Atmel Studio, Atmel Serial Flash Loader, Atmel SAM-BA, and Atmel JTAG ICE. This allows user to easily develop and build applications for the SAM4E.The working principle of the SAM4E-EK is based on the Atmel SAM4E microcontroller. The ATMEL SAM4E-EK contains a set of peripheral devices and an FCC-verified Wi-Fi module. These allow the board to communicate with other devices, sensors and networks. The board runs on Atmel-developed operating systems and middleware which allows users to quickly create applications with minimal coding effort.The SAM4E-EK evaluation board has a wide variety of features such as timers/counters, SRAM, external memory interface, Ethernet, USB, accelerometer, and many other peripherals. These peripherals are used to implement applications such as motor control, sensor data logging, and other general-purpose control applications. With these powerful and diverse peripherals, the SAM4E-EK can easily be used for a number of different applications.Apart from the peripherals, the board also contains multiple debugging and programming interfaces such as a JTAG, Serial Wire Debug (SWD), and a Serial Flash Loader. These interfaces enable debugging and programming of applications even in the field. The SAM4E-EK also supports the Atmel Data Visualiser which is used for logging and viewing the data from the peripherals.In conclusion, the Atmel SAM4E-EK evaluation board is a versatile board which provides users with the ability to rapidly prototype embedded applications.
