PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) is an important component in the power system design of any embedded system. The AUIPS7121R is a PMIC Power Distribution Switch, Load Driver with 4 Channels Regulated FET Drivers. The AUIPS7121R power distribution switch, load driver features four independent, regulated FET drivers with adjustable current-limit protection and high-temperature protection. The built-in adjustable current-limit protection limits the output current of a channel to an adjustable value, preventing the channel from damaging sensitive components or burning out power supplies. The maximum current limit depends on the external sense resistor and can be set in a range from 0.2 A to 2.0 A. The high-temperature protection feature protects the drivers from excessive temperatures, reducing the overall system power dissipation and stability. The drivers are protected from voltages outside their operating range (7V-25V), providing safety and reliability during power-up/down sequences.
The AUIPS7121R provides intelligent power-saving modes for controlling its load drivers. The power-saving mode reduces the load driver current consumption when no load is present and conserves energy when the turn-on/turn-off speed is not critical for system operation. The advanced sleep mode reduces the load driver current consumption even further and can be used for intermittent operation. The sleep mode provides quick wake-up times, reducing the impact on system performance.
