Working Principle
Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are based on the process of electrolysis. In the case of aluminum electrolytic capacitors, a thin layer of an oxide dielectric is formed on the aluminum (anode) electrode when a voltage is applied across the anode and the cathode in the solution. This process increases the amount of electric charge that can be stored on the anode and creates a much larger capacity than is possible with a traditional film capacitor. The AVRF337M10F24T-F utilizes a solid electrolyte and a special aluminum anode. The anode is designed to provide an excellent capacitance/voltage ratio and temperature stability. The electrolyte is designed to provide an excellent overvoltage protection as well as low leakage current.When power is applied, the capacitor is charged to the voltage provided by the power supply. When the voltage is no longer required, the capacitor is discharged through the permanent resistance of the electrolyte. This discharge occurs relatively slowly, allowing the capacitor to act as an energy storage device and reduce the amount of power required from the power supply.Application Field
