Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, or Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors (AECs), are one of the most commonly used types of capacitors. AECs consist of an aluminum oxide layer as the insulating dielectric, and a pair of aluminum foil electrodes which are separated by the oxide layer.
