BAT54W-HE3-18 is mainly used in computer desktop power supply systems. In addition, it can also be used in other electronic switching power supplies, such as home televisions, televisions, and other electronic products.
BAT54W-HE3-18 Working Principle
Every diode consists of a PN junction, which is a boundary between the material containing excess positive charges (the "P-type" material) and the material containing excess negative charges (the "N-type" material). When a voltage is applied to it, the built-in electric field forces the mobile positive and negative charges to move to the P and N sides respectively, establishing a rectifying connection of the diode.The plate of the diode is usually composed of one or more N-type semiconductor materials and one P-type semiconductor material. Connected to AC input leads, the anode (A) is wired to one side of the AC power, and the cathode (K) is wired to the other side of the AC power.
Under the action of the applied voltage, electrons flow from the negative pole to the P layer, forming a PN junction, that is, a rectifying diode. In the forward biasing direction, the current is mainly composed of electrons; in the reverse biasing direction, the current is mainly composed of holes, and the current is much smaller than the forward current. When a high voltage is applied in the forward direction, high current can flow through the diode and it will be in the ON state. When the voltage is reversed, the diode is in the OFF state.
The BAT54W-HE3-18 is an integrated, high-efficiency rectifier diode.
