BD4743G-TR

The BD4743G-TR is a multi-function reset IC with a watchdog timer and a load switch to protect a system from malfunction or failure. This type of IC, known as a PMIC - Supervisor, is designed to monitor the application performance, ensuring that the system does not exceed operating parameters, when a problem is detected the supervisor will shut down or reset the application to prevent further damage. This type of supervisor is often used in automotive applications where reliable performance-monitoring and robust protection against overvoltage or overcurrent conditions is critical, however it can also be used in other applications such as industrial, telecom and consumer electronics.

The BD4743G-TR has four main functions: a watchdog timer, a push-pull output to reset the system, a voltage monitor and a voltage clamp. The watchdog timer is a programmable module that can be configured to reset the system when a fault or malfunction is detected. This can be set to trigger the reset after a specific ‘Time Out’ period, or it can be used to monitor the system performance using an Event Counter. The on-chip circuit also incorporates a Schmitt trigger for improved noise immunity, allowing it to reliably detect the system’s performance parameters even in the presence of electrical noise or other environmental factors. The highly integrated design of the BD4743G-TR includes protection against hot temperature reverse bias protection, ESD (electrostatic discharge) and latch-up protection, making it suitable for use in a wide range of applications.
