Working Principle

The BD4834FVE-TR monitors the power supply voltage VCC and provides reset signals under low voltage and over voltage conditions. It also monitors the system to detect errors and provide reset signals for microcontrollers. The reset signal is generated when VCC falls below the reset threshold voltage VLT and / or falls below the brown-out voltage threshold VLO. The reset signal is de-asserted when the voltage reaches the reset release voltage VHT. The watchdog signal is generated when the watchdog timer times out. A signal can also be sent when VCC reaches the power-good voltage VPG. The signal level can be either high or low depending on the mode.

The BD4834FVE-TR provides the functions of reset, brown-out, watchdog, and power-good in a single-chip device of 7.8 mm x 5.5 mm. The IC is designed with a CMOS low power consumption circuit and requires only one external capacitor for reset to help reduce the number of components required in system design.
