Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) is one of the most important components in many circuit designs. The BD4925FVE-TR has two operating modes: Normal Mode and Active Reset Mode. In Normal Mode the power supervisor IC monitors VDDA1 and VDDA2 voltage levels. If the voltage of either VDDA1 or VDDA2 drops below the monitored level, then the IC will generate a system Reset signal. In Active Reset Mode the BD4925FVE-TR monitors the voltage of VDDA2. If the voltage of VDDA2 drops below the monitored level, then the IC will generate a system Reset signal. The system Reset signal is used to reset the processor back to its initial state.

The BD4925FVE-TR also contains a built-in flash memory restrain time circuit which prevents execution of the flash program code for a predetermined amount of time. This time is adjustable depending on the application. The IC also has an over-current protection circuit which will provide protection against short circuits and also against over current conditions. In addition, the BD4925FVE-TR contains a built-in recharge circuit which is used to recharge the system’s internal battery. The recharge circuit includes a built-in step-up DC/DC converter which is used to supply power to the processor core.

The BD4925FVE-TR is an ideal power supervisor IC for use in portable electronic devices. It provides all the necessary functions for proper operation and also renders a wide range of system voltages and system mode selections.
