BD9673EFJ_EVK is an evaluation board used for off-line Switch Mode Power Supply (SMPS). It is designed for multi-string LED-type lighting applications. The board is capable of providing 50W power to drive up to ten strings of LEDs: each one maximum 10W CV/CC power. A PFC/PWM integrated circuit (IC), the BD9673F, is used as the core power-conversion device. The evaluation board includes all the required features of a ballast to drive 50W output. It can be used in a variety of LED ballast applications, such as LED tube lights, LED panel displays, and also LED downlights. BD9673EFJ_EVK features a universal AC input (room lighting, retail, commercial and industrial luminaire applications) plus a dimming input (L-link, DALI, 0-10V) for automated local control. The LED driver includes various protections like over-power, open LED string, under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) and over-temperature protection (OTP). The working principle of BD9673EFJ_EVK is straightforward. The AC-input voltage is rectified and then it goes through active PFC (Power Factor Correction) to generate constant DC-link voltage, and also it is used to drive an LLC resonant converter to supply an high-frequency, high-efficiency LED-driver power stage. The constant DC -link voltage is used to regulate the LED load current with a low ripple count. In summary, the BD9673EFJ_EVK evaluation board is suitable for a plethora of LED lighting applications, including LED Tubes, panels, and downlights. Its non-isolated multistring topology is based on a PFC/PWM IC. The board features an AC/DC SMPS as well as numerous protection features, Universal AC input, dimming input, over-power, open LED string, under-voltage lock-out (UVLO) and over-temperature protection (OTP).
