The BOOSTXL-CC1125 is a comprehensive evaluation and development platform for Texas Instruments’ CC1125, a single-chip wireless-MCU solution that combines a Sub-1GHz RF transceiver, an advanced Arm Cortex-M0+-based 32-bit MCU and integrated analog and digital peripherals. The combination of these technologies provides low power consumption and high data-throughput, making it an ideal platform for a variety of wireless applications such as home automation, motor control, and medical devices.

The BOOSTXL-CC1125 is designed to enable rapid prototyping of solutions based around the CC1125 and to evaluate the features and performance of this powerful wireless platform. The BOOSTXL-CC1125 additionally contains a set of digital and analog I/O and sensors connected to the CC1125 and the CC112X chipsets. It has a variety of sensors including a temperature sensor, an accelerometer, a light sensor, a humidity/temperature sensor, and a pressure sensor. The digital I/O includes two push-buttons, a PWM controlled LED, an analog digital converter (ADC) and a digital analog converter (DAC) for analog signal monitoring and manipulation. Additionally, the board features an external SPI interface and a serial port to allow connection to an external display or other peripherals.

The working principle of the BOOSTXL-CC1125 is that it uses the CC1125’s wireless MCU architecture to communicate with a host controller (e.g. a computer) wirelessly. The data is exchanged over the air using the 2.4GHz IEEE 802.15.4 air interface. Additionally, the user can use the integrated humidity/temperature, pressure, accelerometer, light, and temperature sensors as well as the digital and analog I/O on the BOOSTXL-CC1125 to create their own custom data-acquisition systems and environmental-monitoring systems.
