The BOOST-CC2564MODA is an evaluation board and expansion board, daughter card which is a combination of the MSP-EXP430FR2433 launch pad and the CC2564MODA dual-mode Bluetooth 4.0 module. As a mini evaluation system, it allows users to understand the working principles of the integrated Bluetooth module. It provides development environment support for lower layer Bluetooth 4.0 stack, and debugging Bluetooth application layer. In addition, users can develop simple projects based on the launch pad. The purpose of this evaluation board and expansion board is to provide a comprehensive solution for the evaluation, study and development of the CC2564MODA module component.

The launchpad part is the MSP430FR2433, which is a mcu with integrated analog and digital peripherals, so that it can easily develop projects such as sensing, power management and wireless communication. This mcu adopts the 16-bit MCU core of the msp430 family with a maximum speed of 16MHz, 4K ROM, 384B SRAM, and a variety of peripherals such as 24 IO ports (including protected IO), ADCs, ZTC, USCI, comparators, comparator ports and so on. In addition, the launchpad is powered by a 3V button battery cell and provides a programming USB connection to allow developers to download the program to the target board through the on-chip communication interface.

The CC2564MODA dual-mode Bluetooth 4.0 module is an ultra-low power module built with high integration based on the Texas Instruments CC2564 chip, which is a multi-protocol Bluetooth 4.0 Single-Chip transceiver compliant to the following communication protocols: BR/EDR/LE through a combined host and controller interface (HCI) or an integrated HCI port. Moreover, the CC2564MODA supports multiple physical layer data rate transmissions as well as Free Fall detects, it is ideal for applications such as active wireless speakers, headset, active wireless speech recognition, smart home and car monitoring systems.

The CC2564MODA module integrated on the BOOST-CC2564MODA evaluation device supports the development and application of the integrated Bluetooth module stack and application layer. The evaluation board provides a wide range of interfaces and functions including USART, USB, SPI, UART, IR coexistence, wake-up input, and antenna selections which allows user to develop Bluetooth related application projects. In addition, the BOOST-CC2564MODA evaluation board also provides two antenna selection switches, which can select between different antenna or external antenna or internal antenna according to the actual operation demand.

The Bluetooth stack provided with BOOST-CC2564MODA evaluation board is TI CC256X SDK, which is an optimized, compact, and certified Bluetooth stack. The SDK combines the Bluetooth baseband and the application layer, which provides the user with all the necessary components, such as the profile, radio procedures, transport protocol, host controller protocol, and profiles. The SDK also supports development of HCI command-based applications and available royalty-free. The BOOST-CC2564MODA evaluation board integrated with the CC2564DEBUG debugger board provides an easy-to-use debugger platform for debugging and developing the Bluetooth application layer.
