The on-chip system is an example of fast charging as it enables fast charging of a single battery cell (up to 3A) with an input current of 500mA and an output voltage of 3.2V and up to 2A current. The electro-thermal management system of the BQ24751BRHDRG4 automatically turns off the power in hazardous conditions, providing the desired protection and safety.

On-chip N-channel MOSFETs are used to power the battery during normal operation, and the P-channel MOSFET is used for reverse-protect the battery. These MOSFETs provide soft-start and over-current protection, and also a thermal shutdown feature that turns off the battery if the core temperature reaches a preset value.

The integrated power path management system provides control of the power path. When there is a shortage, it will charge the battery by turning on the N-channel MOSFETs. When the battery is full, it will turn off these MOSFETs and turn on the P-channel MOSFET, thus providing reverse protection to the battery.
