Working Principle of BSPM3208WYGR

The BSPM3208WYGR device is a bidirectional electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical surge suppressor with bilateral symmetry and low capacitive coupling of the voltage. The device is made of a combination of two complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) FETs in a reverse-parallel configuration. When the device is in the off state, it provides a high voltage breakdown layer between the two FETs. When the device is triggered by a surge, the FETs close and form a low impedance path across a gap created by the common gate. This allows the incoming surge energy to be dissipated and thus protects the circuit from damage.
