Thyristors - TRIACs
Thyristors are usually identified based on their type and configuration, such as thyristor-triacs. A Triac, a three-terminal device, is an integrated version of a thyristor. Also, due to their compact size and integration of thyristor and rectifier circuits, they require less space than SCRs. This makes them ideal for use in small devices. The Triac devices are also more resistant to transient surges and higher temperature, which makes them more reliable for use than SCRs.
