Thyristors - TRIACs

A TRIAC comprises two thyristors combined together in inverse parallel connection and making use of both the positive and negative half cycles of input AC waveforms for triggering. The TRIAC is a three-terminal device with main terminals designated as main terminal 1 (MT1) and main terminal 2 (MT2). The third terminal is called a gate terminal.
