It has four terminals, two for incoming AC voltage, two for outgoing DC voltage. In the delta configuration, a single diode is used to bridge each individual pair of positive and negative legs, while in the wye configuration, two diodes are used in parallel to bridge each pair of positive and negative legs. These two connecting configurations form a complete bridge circuit, which is responsible for the DC conversion of AC input. The goal of the bridge rectifier is to convert the AC current into DC current, by using a two stage voltage conversion.
