The BYV26E-TAP is a single rectifier diode specifically designed for applications such as high frequency switch mode power supplies and DC-DC converters. It is capable of withstanding peak of up to 1A and offers reverse voltage blocking capabilities up to 600V. It features a planar diffusion construction, Hermetically sealed construction, Low junction capacitance, low leakage current and improved surge characteristics, typical for power diodes.

Working Principle

The BYV26E-TAP is a silicon planar diffusion based device. It is composed of a single rectifier diode and comes housed in a leadless flat-pack package for surface mounting. It works by allowing current to flow in only one direction and blocking current from flowing in the opposite direction.

The BYV26E-TAP has a forward voltage drop of 0.7V at 1A and a maximum junction temperature of 175°C. The robust hermetically sealed construction makes it ideal for applications in power supplies, converters and switch mode power supplies, where high voltage and current surges and extremes in temperature encountered occur.

Additionally, the BYV26E-TAP is designed to be able to handle high reverse-pulse surge capability, enabling high surge current switching, while maintaining a low reverse current, allowing a high degree of protection against unwanted current loops.

The BYV26E-TAP provides a solution that combines reliability and high surge and reverse voltage capability in a single, surface mountable package.
