TVS - DiodesTvs-diodes are an important component of most electronic systems. They work to protect sensitive components from large voltages, spikes or surges from over-voltage conditions.The BZG04-10TR is a transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed for applications where high speed protection from over-voltage transients is required. It belongs to the family of TVS diode which is specially designed to protect against ESD (electro-static discharge) and lightning-induced transient surge currents.The BZG04-10TR is engineered to reduce ESD-induced damage by limiting the voltage rise across the device when subjected to ESD discharges, while allowing normal signal or data communication. It can handle up to 8.5kV contact discharge, and up to 15kV air discharge when properly connected.The device is a bi-directional device with symmetrical surge capability on both positive and negative polarity. Its working voltage is situated at 6.8V with a 5A peak pulse current rating. It can be used in different current handing applications requiring micro seconds response time with IPP (peak pulse power) handling up to 360 Watts.The BZG04-10TR TVS device combines an ultra-low capacitance and high-speed diode recovery time in a polysilicon bidirectional diode configuration and is designed to protect sensitive electronic components from voltage transients generated by lightning or other electrostatic discharge (ESD) events. The combination of the low capacitance and the high speed of the diode allows it to handle very high peak current spikes, while still providing maximum protection from transient overvoltage surges. It also has a very low leakage current and low capacitance so that it can be used in applications where strong signal integrity and high ESD protection is needed.In conclusion, the BZG04-10TR TVS diode provides the most reliable protection for sensitive electronic components against over-voltage transients.
