A Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) diode, such as the BZG04-62TR, is a type of semiconductor device that is designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from excessive transient voltage impulses. The BZG04-62TR is a unidirectional TVS diode designed to protect electronic circuits from ESD, EFT and other transient voltage pulses. The working principle of the BZG04-62TR is simple. When an impulse having a voltage greater than 62V is applied to the circuit, the diode will conduct, diverting the current from the sensitive components to ground. This divertive current protects the sensitive components from the damaging effects of the transient voltage pulse by dissipating the energy in the diode itself. When the impulse passes the diode will then turn off, allowing the circuit to resume operation.
The BZG04-62TR is ideal for a wide variety of applications requiring protection from ESD, EFT, and other transient voltage pulses, including automotive electronics, PCBs, laptop computers, cell phones, and other consumer and industrial electronic devices. It is also well-suited for use in circuits subject to a wide range of operating temperatures, from -55°C to 150°C.
