Working principle
The working principle of the BZV55C22 is the same as all other Zener diodes. When the reverse voltage applied across the diode is above the Zener breakdown voltage, the diode thereby facilitates current conduction in the reverse direction. This, in turn, will cause the voltage drop down to the level of the breakdown voltage. This gated current when flows through the circuit, stabilizes the voltage.
The breakdown voltage of the BZV55C22 single zener diode can be calculated using the following formula,
Vz = Vz(room temp) + (T – 25ºC) x ΔV/ºC
Where Vz represents the breakdown voltage, Vz(room temp) is the breakdown voltage at room temperature, T is the temperature in ºC and ΔV/ºC is the temperature coefficient of the breakdown voltage.
