CAT25080VI-GT3

CAT25080VI-GT3 is a non-volatile memory device employing 0.8V-compatible signaling. The device contains eight data input/output pins (I/O0 to I/O7) and six address pins (A0 to A5) to define its addressing space. With eight input/output channels, the CAT25080VI-GT3 provides a wide range of application fields and working principle.

Application Field

The CAT25080VI-GT3 is well suited for low-power devices and applications with limited power consumption where battery-backed support is required. It can also be used as a cost-effective alternative to Flash and SRAM in applications with limited memory space requirements. Working Principle

The CAT25080VI-GT3 utilizes the non-volatile CMOS-compatible process. The device’s data retention is permanent and reliable, with a data retention time of up to 10 years at 55°C/85% RH, and a full temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.

The CAT25080VI-GT3 provides a three-byte write protection feature that prevents inadvertent writes to memory locations. The write protection is enabled by writing a particular byte code to the write protection register. This byte code can be retained even when the power is removed from the device, thus ensuring data integrity and security.

The device provides a high-speed random access memory (RAM) mode with a 60ns access time. The RAM mode can be used to store data quickly and allow for immediate access.

The CAT25080VI-GT3 also provides a write protect feature for each 128-byte block in the device. This allows for selective write protection of stored data and helps in achieving data security.

The CAT25080VI-GT3 also has an additional security feature, which allows the host system to authenticate the device prior to accessing the data stored on it. This authentication procedure is done by programming a unique security code in the device and then verifying it, prior to providing access.
