The CAT4101TV-T75 is a PMIC – LED Driver designed to drive six high-current LEDs in series and supports both analog and PWM dimming control. It combines the popular CAT4101 Driver and the CAT75 I2C Slave Interface into a single monolithic device, which helps reduce overall system cost, board space and power consumption associated with multiple system components.

The CAT4101TV-T75 solution offers numerous features such as five levels of brightness control, three levels of dimming control and adjustable maximum current. Moreover, it includes a PWM dimmer and analog dimmer interface that enables a wide range of high-performance LED applications.

The working principle of the CAT4101TV-T75 is to use the current setpoints in a given LED string to always maintain constant current across the LED string, while varying the dimming level of the LED accordingly. The CAT4101TV-T75 uses the dimming signal to control the switches in the LED string and to adjust the output current. The brightness of the LED is regulated by the current setpoints in the LED string.
