CC1350F128RSMR is a high-performance, low-power Sub-1 GHz network system-on-chip (SoC). It combines a flexible, very low power RF transceiver with a powerful 48 MHz Cortex M4 microcontroller in a platform supporting multiple physical layers and RF standards. The CC1350F128RSMR provide long-range connectivity with best-in-class hardware-based security, and enable sensing, data-logging, and user interfaces.
The CC1350F128RSMR supports a variety of application fields, such as industrial automation, home or building automation, smart metering, long-range sensor nodes, Bluetooth® low energy, proprietary low-power wireless networks, and secure wireless audio.
The CC1350F128RSMR working principle consists of four primary blocks: Analog Baseband, Digital Baseband, PHY and Cortex-M4.
Analog Baseband
The Analog Baseband unit contains the analog circuitry and analog and digital control logic for the RF system. This includes the transmit, receive and synthesizer subsystems, radio control logic and handshake protocols. The Analog Baseband is controlled by the Digital Baseband control unit.
Digital Baseband
The Digital Baseband unit performs signal processing related tasks and implements the modem algorithms that translate the radio user data back and forth. It controls the Analog Baseband through the the RF core. This unit is controlled by the Cortex-M4 Core.
PHY
The Physical Layer (PHY) combines the Analog Baseband and the Digital Baseband units with the radio frequency system. The PHY can either be connected directly to the RF transceiver chip, or to an external RF frontend, depending on the application.
Cortex-M4
The Cortex-M4 Core provides an application development environment. It can be used to debug the low-level protocols and application programs. The core also serves as an interface to the radio\'s memory, using the Memory Controller Facility.
Through the combination of hardware-assisted wireless security, low-power consumption and flexible radio platform, the CC1350F128RSMR provides comprehensive solutions for many industrial and consumer applications and as well as innovative user interfaces and long-range sensing nodes.
