The CD4051B is an analog CMOS multiplexer which is available in three-state outputs and is able to control up to eight independently switched channels. The CD4051B is operated by a logic level control input which depending on its level, it will select one of the eight channels and route in to one of the three-state outputs. This integrated circuit has wide application field due to its easy logics, multiple outputs and portability. Typical application of the CD4051B includes data sequencing, data transmission, and data sampling.

The CD4051B is an 8-channel multiplexer which is based on CMOS technology. It is suitable for both analog and digital signals. Each of the 8 channels is controlled by a logic level control input. This allows data to be routed without any addition logic or external components. The three state outputs are active high, so each output can either be high, low, or high-impedance.

The CD4051B MSOP package offers a pin count of 8 in a 10-lead package. Therefore, this integrated circuit is a convenient option for portable applications. Its supply voltage can range from 3V to 15V and it operates in an ambient temperature range of –40°C to +85°C. CD4051B has TTL and CMOS compatible inputs and provide less than 1Ω on-state resistance.
