CD4051B is an 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer, designed for use in Analog-to-Digital (A/D) and Digital-to-Analog (D/A) converters, fast Fourier transform (FFT) applications, audio switches, and Sample-and-Hold (S/H) circuits. The 8-channel multiplexer/demultiplexer takes three binary selection lines (S0, S1 and S2) and provides eight discrete outputs (Y0 - Y7). By controlling the selection lines, one of eight signals present at the device inputs (A0 - A7) can be routed to the output (Y).CD4051B is also an excellent low-cost general-purpose analog switching device that can be used to connect any of 8 single-pole input lines to a common single-pole output line.
