CD4052BCM is a Bipolar CMOS (BiCMOS) analog switch and can be classified as one of four type of interface devices: analog switches, multiplexer, demultiplexer and analog switch multiplexer. It consists of a two-channel, two-level CMOS analog switch, mux/demux switching logic and complementary NPN-PNP output logic in the same package.

The N-channel MOS transistors form the pull-up voltage to the output pins, and the P-channel MOS transistors form the pull-down voltage. Together, these transistors form a bipolar CMOS analog switch.
