CD74HC4024M is a programmable counter/divider IC that is extensively used in various programmable dividers/counters applications. This is a single chip comprising of counter, and divider circuits. The range of devices available cover various frequency dividing applications that facilitate counting both edge-triggered and level-triggered events with an output of several thousand cycles per count needed in special applications.

This device is available in small size packages that contain built-in multiplexers for generating output signals of variable duty cycles and output gates for different conditions. The CD74HC4024M specifically uses the 4-bit synchronous counter that uses two 4-bit binary counters with a synchronous load input (LOAD).
