Working Principle
Multivibrators are electronic oscillators, but unlike conventional RC and LC oscillators, they can be used to generate two different types of outputs- square waves, and a rectangular wave. The CD74HCT423E consists of two identical amplifying stages, each stage has two inputs, A and B; and one output A’ and B’ respectively. It is designed to operate from +3V to + 18V of supply voltage.
This device\'s operation is based on what is known as the flip-flop principle. When a trigger signal is applied to the A or B input of the flip-flop, the output A\'or B\' of the flip-flop changes state, depending on the level of the trigger signal and the previous state of the flip-flop.
