Working Principle

CDBB220-G is combined with other components to form a complete power rectifying circuit. It is used to control the voltage flow in one direction through the conduction of electrons. In this diode, N-type material is used with a P-type material and the junction is formed between them. The N-type material contains an excess number of electrons while the P-type material has an excess number of positively charged particles. This causes the formation of an electric field, known as the depletion layer. This electric field prevents the current from flowing through the junction in the reverse direction, thereby acting as a rectifying element.

When the circuit is connected to one side of the diode, electrons from the N-type material are attracted to the P-type material. This allows the current to flow easily in one direction and cause a drop in the voltage, known as the Forward voltage drop. At the same time, the reverse current is blocked. This helps in the generation of clean and stable power. Furthermore, the presence of a high current and temperature ratings makes the CDBB220-G an ideal choice for use in power rectification, voltage regulation and other power applications.
