CDCM61001RHBR is a clock generator and frequency synthesizer from the Texas Instruments (TI). Its main features are its low power operation, fast settling time and wide bandwidth control. In addition, it can enable the quick arbitration of a variety of clocking requirements for the multitude of applications in which it can be used. The CDCM61001RHBR integrates an internally compensated PLL, an Internal Reference divider, a frequency/cycle-count detector, an internal CPU, an output frequency detector, an output buffer, and an input terminal with synchronization capability. This allows it to be suitable for a whole range of different applications.The device is particularly suitable for the generation of wireless communication links, like WLAN, GSM, and Bluetooth. It can also be used in applications regarding high-speed and high-resolution communications, such as networking equipment, cellular base stations, portable devices, and data links. Moreover, its extremely low power consumption at 7 mW on average is suitable for battery-powered systems. It supports master clock synthesis for applications such as for video and audio. It can also be used for time- and frequency-measurement transceivers, such as oscilloscopes, in addition to frequency-muxing, frequency-hopping and other related functions.The CDCM61001RHBR works by taking an input clock signal, which it divides by the programmed reference divider to generate a reference frequency. The PLL then multiplies the reference signal to generate the output clock signal that is requested. The internal CPU applies the necessary control to the PLL and reference divider, in order to accurately synthesize the desired signal. The output buffer amplifies the signal and provides necessary functions such as immunity to noise, which makes this component extremely reliable in signal transmission. Finally, the frequency/cycle-count detector allows to guarantee the accuracy of the internal clock within tight tolerance limits, by measuring the output clock signal.In sum, the CDCM61001RHBR is a clock generator and frequency synthesizer that is suitable for a wide range of applications, such as wireless communication links, high-speed and high-resolution communications, battery-powered systems, and more.
