Aluminum electrolytic capacitors are widely used in consumer electronics and industrial machines due to their consistence quality, low cost and ease of use. The CGS683U075X5L in particular is a radial leaded, non-solid, non-polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor designed for high temperature industrial applications. The CGS683U075X5L aluminum electrolytic capacitor uses a cylindrical aluminum anode with raised ribs to increase surface area and has an anode/cathode gap of 0.3 mm. The outer surface of the anode is covered with a mixed-oxide dielectric which can be of any one of various mixtures of aluminum oxide with bismuth oxide, barium oxide, lanthanum oxide or other oxide materials. The dielectric/anode gap is filled with an electrolyte which can be either a dry formulation or liquid. The cathode is connected to the anode via a very thin layer of metal foil which also serves as the terminal connection for the capacitor.

The CGS683U075X5L capacitors are usually used in industrial applications such as motor drive and control systems, DC-First PID control, power supplies, inverters, UPS, industrial automation and signal conditioning. The device offers excellent high temperature performance and a high capacitance of between 60 μF and 100 μF. It also has a voltage rating of up to 500V DC and a maximum operating temperature of +105°C, making it suitable for use in harsh industrial environments.
