Working Principle

The controller then turns off the main switch when the output current reaches its minimum value, at which time the current comparator is reset, and output current rises by a voltage (Vov). This cycle repeats at a fixed frequency and integrated adaptive on-time regulation allows for automatic frequency compensation in order to maintain accuracy.

The device includes integrated Synchronous Rectification (SR) generation that allows for reduced switching losses compared to traditional PWM controllers. It also includes loss-less Triac control which allows for smooth startup and shutdown with reduced inrush current.
